the mid.week Pretty

It’s only fitting to put a photo of my brother’s wedding up for this week’s mid.week Pretty.

There is nothing better than experiencing firsthand what my clients and their families go through each week as I am approaching the beginning of the fab.wedding season.   I am so excited to begin this summer with a renewed look at what it is that the vendors and I are creating for them.   I am so happy for my brother, our family, and his new bride’s family that I get a lil verklempt just typing this.  Saturday was one of the most fun days I’ve had with my family and I’m pretty confident there is evidnce (black mail worthy?) of that in all the photos (that are yet to leak…).

There are so many challenges and triumphs in relationships to celebrate.    When you’re marrying someone, you’re saying you’re going to give it everything you’ve got to make it through the lows and dance through the highs.  This wedding celebrated what they’ve been through, where they’re going, and told the world that they’re ready to take it on together.  It was a single day, yes, but it was the single day that they stood in front of all of us, to take each other as husband and wife and to ask all of us to stand behind them and support and celebrate with them (and we gladly do…did… and will!).  It’s a day that I know I’ll forever remember and that, folks, is why weddings are a big deal.  Not the stuff.  The people.  The memories.  That warm fuzzy feeling of dancing with my siblings to Lance’s personal theme song by Kid Rock and being in every other photo in their photobooth (sorry I’m not sorry, guys).

Think about this the next time you’re invited to a wedding.  Whether you’ve got 1 or 100 to attend this summer, remember that this moment, for that couple and those families, is one of the biggest and most hopeful days in their lives.  And you were asked to be there to witness and celebrate that with them.  It’s a big deal.

Congrats, Sarah and Lance.  I LOVE YOU!
